JGA: Admission and Fees
Admissions
Our admission procedure is designed to find out if we are the right school for your child, a place where she will thrive spiritually, personally and academically. We pray and will endeavour to make JGA that place.
The following selection criteria will be used to allocate places at JGA:
- Prospective pupils must at least be able to recite the Qur’an (Nazirah).
- Applicants for year 5 onwards, who are opting for the Aalimah course, must be able to read, write and understand basic level Urdu text.
- Selected applicants are called for assessment.
- Applicants who pass the assessment test further be selected after an interview.Candidates who pass the entrance test will further be selected after an interview.
- Pupils in Year 6 will progress to Year 7 ONLY if they have shown the ability to study the dual curriculum.
Admissions Procedure
- All applications must be made using JGA admission form available from the school office Please note entry into year 7 is oversubscribed and priority is given to pupils from our primary section. To avoid disappointment it is recommended that applications be made from year 4)
- Assessment tests are held during the Spring term for secondary and primary pupils for the following academic year
- The table below outlines the areas of assessment
- After the assessment parents of selected applicants will be called for an interview.
- Applicants are not discriminated against on grounds of disability. In the event where the school admits a pupil with a disability every effort will be made to make the curriculum accessible.
- If the applicant is successful a letter of acceptance is sent out to the parents/guardians. Alternatively, a letter of apology is sent out along with the applicant’s school and madrasah reports.
EAL (English as an additional language):
On admission all pupils are assessed. A small percentage of pupils admitted require to learn English as an additional language. The school has a strategy for developing English across the curriculum.SEN (Special Educational Needs):
The school does not have provision for pupils with special educational needs due to lack of resources and trained staff.Fees Policy
